If you often think "Someday I'll have that [house, body, life, etc]", read this…

Are you someone who has 100 Pinterest boards? One for home décor you want some day, one for the most marvelous party ideas, 50 decadent recipes to try, one for new outfits when you’re that certain size or when you’re brave enough to try it.

I bet it looks more like this:

  • Recipes you’ve never tried

  • Outfits you’re too scared to try on

  • Parties you’ve never thrown

  • Photos of home décor that makes you feel bad about what you do have

If you’re living your life in the idealistic world of social media, then you’re not really living.

If you find yourself thinking “Someday I’ll get that [house, body, life, etc]”, you’ll find you never get there.

Because we like to live in the perfect world of social media where everything is perfect, instead of the messy world of real life.

In social media world, we get to pretend that we are also perfect.

But I hate to break it to you, you’re not. No one is!

But when you live in that “perfect” world, you never try anything and you stay stagnant where you are.

Social media is taking you away from living your own life, which is messy, imperfect and wonderful.

What if you could:

  • Have the confidence to try on the outfits

  • Let go of your old things to make room for the new décor you want

  • Try the recipes at your party, fail at some and laugh at yourself and get closer with everyone at your party.

Or what if you realized you don’t really want any of that in the first place. Maybe social media has been showing you photos/videos of a lifestyle you thought you wanted, but when you remove yourself from it for a little while, you may realize that stuff doesn’t align with who you are and who you want to become.

In order to get what you truly want, you have to be willing to be imperfect. You have to make mistakes, you have to be messy.

That’s how you find out who you are, what you and who your friends are (who will support you when you burn the meal.)

Be willing to be your imperfect self.

I don’t want to see perfection because I know it’s fake. I want to see real people and real lives.

Decide to be messy in real life and on social media.
