The Great Unplugging

A smartphone / internet / dopamine gratification detox retreat

The Transformation:

In a world where we’re all connected, it’s beneficial to unplug every once in a while.

Smartphones have been creating a more anxious, depressed and stressful state of the world. There are lots of benefits to getting away from your phone, being bored and just letting your mind wander, and that’s what you’ll get from this retreat.

This retreat requires you to take a step back from your phone.

You will have two 15 minute periods per day to use your phone how you want: call or text people in your life, watch a video, scroll social media.

This retreat makes you be intentional with your phone use so you can come back to the daily life and have a better phone-life balance. We use yoga, breathing techniques, journaling and though work practices, and art to recenter and relearn who you are without your phone and create a life you love.

After this retreat you will:

  • feel less anxious

  • compare yourself to others less

  • get so much time back in your life

  • love more

  • learn techniques to continue the practice even when you really want to doomscroll

  • learn who you are without your phone in your hand

Weekend Agenda:

FRIDAY:

  • 5pm - Introductions / Intro Circle / Intentions for the weekend

    • Tell everyone on your phone you know you’ll be offline for a few days

  • 30 minute Restorative Yoga

  • Nourishing Dinner and discussion

  • Phone check - 15 min

  • Free time

  • Hot tea & bed


SATURDAY:

Wake up phone free (no phone alarm, no scrolling in the morning, nothing).

  • Coffee/tea and journaling (Quiet hours until 9am)

  • Guided meditation / art

  • Breakfast

  • Movement - 30 min restorative yoga and breathing

  • Journaling / thought work practice

  • Lunch

  • Free time

  • Dinner

  • Walk / Tea

  • 2 - phone checks / day for 15 min each - you decide how you use that time

SUNDAY:

Wake up phone free (no phone alarm, no scrolling in the morning, nothing).

  • Coffee/tea and journaling (Quiet hours until 9am.)

  • guided meditation / art / yoga

  • Journaling

  • Breakfast and sharing

  • Free time - Art / activity / reading / connecting with others

FREE TIME ACTIVITIES:

  • Yoga

  • Art & Reading & Writing

  • Watching TV

  • Working out on Peloton

  • Walking / hiking

Not a silent retreat, but a phone-free retreat

We have to consciously choose our own health. This world is filled with media and advertising trying to make you feel like you aren’t enough, fast food that make you feel bad in your body, chemicals, bad news, all over the place. You could go crazy if you don’t take a break.

Investment

  • Normally $525-$775 (depending on accommodation selection).

    • Now only $250 because it’s the first retreat of it’s kind.

  • Deposit: $125 to secure your space

  • Guided movement, meditation practice + breathwork practice held in a private yoga space

This retreat is happening over Valentine's Day weekend, so it's a good opportunity to bring your girlfriend and do a Galentine's retreat! Get away from the doomscrolling, the news, the constant connection to everything happening in the world.

And let's face it, over Valentine's Day, we're all inundated with content about ways to have the best Valentine's date, or that you're living wrong if you're not partnered. Whether you're partnered or not, no one seems to really enjoy this commercialized holiday.
