Fall & Winter Slow Down

Hi all,

It's been a while.

I've been on the fast life lately. I was on a road trip out west in October, but I didn't really want to go that far or put that much work in, so I turned around. And I feel okay with that.

I want to be in the midwest during the fall and winter. I don't feel a need to get out and see the mountains of the desert or the coast. I like the cold weather and the changing leaves.

Fall is the start of slowing down and hibernation season.

I feel like waking up late, staying at home, not doing as much during the day, and wanting to eat more. That's all a part of my hibernation mode I go into every year when the weather turns cold and the days become shorter.

Do you notice any of these seasonal changes in your body?

I like fall and winter as a way to slow down and reflect on the year and make changes going forward.

Maybe you got off track from your goals at the start of the year, maybe you've lost your way in the world. This is a good time to slow down, see what trajectory you're currently on, and change your path if you want.

This November, I'm working on a book idea I've had for a while. It's a modern day Walden and my thoughts are completely jumbled right now, but at least I'm writing everyday.

For me, writing is important. I try to write a little something every morning and every night: things I'm thinking about, things I'm worried about, what I did in the day. It helps to clear my head and make sense of the life I'm living.

That's all I got for this week.
