The Habit of Reading
I've been trying this thing lately called reading.
I used to read for an hour before bed thru high school and college and beyond. But for the past few years, I've been glued to my phone at night trying to get everything done for the day.
So I picked up my habit of reading before bed every day again. All I do is read a page per day. And if I have more time or am interested, I will read more.
It's actually done wonders for my sleep. I can actually wind down and my brain can finally shut off. All it has to do before bed is read. It doesn't have to look at all the texts or photos or videos or emails or notifications that come. I don't have to quick send a text or make a post or draft an email for the next day (and normally I'm trying to do these things all at the same time).
All I have to do is lay down and read. Then shut off the light.
It's been really nice to slow down even if it's for 5 minutes before bed.
I hear a lot of people talk about not being able to read anymore. Either they don't have enough time or don't have the attention span, but I assure you, you can read. If you know how to read, you're good.
You just have to learn the habit of reading again.
So I'm made a guide on how to read more which you can find here.
It walks you through all the things that you can do to slow down and commit to reading every day, even one page, even for 5 minutes.
